"Outlander" season 2 is still in production but that stage is now at its end as series producer-writer Matthew B. Roberts confirmed via Twitter that the cast has gone through their final script-reading. Not only did he state that this is the final script-reading but he also mentioned that new cast members have joined in for the final production phase.

"Some familiar faces, some new ones. Some laughter, some tears. Mostly tears," reads Robert's Twitter post.

Fans have long waited for Starz's announcement regarding the casting of Bree, one of the pivotal characters in the second season. It is possible that some of the new cast members included in this final script-reading include the actress who will portray Bree. Bree, in the books the series is based on, plays a crucial role in the series' time-traveling plot.

The announcement also hints at a possible trailer coming soon.

According to a report from Cartermatt, it is likely that the next trailer for "Outlander" season 2 will launch some time next week during the premiere for "Black Sails" season 3, which is on Jan. 23. This may be done in order to showcase the upcoming season in front of a large television audience.

It is also pointed out in the report that Starz has not yet announced an official premiere date for "Outlander" season 2, save for the fact that it is set to release by April. It is further speculated that the new trailer may announce when the season will officially premiere, given that the series is done with filming and is now entering post-production.

Season 2 will pick up some time after the events of the season 1 finale and will see Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) continue in their efforts to stop the Jacobite uprising. This time, however, they will be conducting their efforts in Paris where they will attempt to gain the help of Bonnie Prince Charlie.
