The year is almost coming to an end and what it means for "Outlander" fans is that season 2 won't be a long wait.

The recently released trailer of the time travel series all the more fueled the anticipation for season 2. The last time people saw Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe), they were on a ship leaving Scotland and bound to start anew in France. It was also revealed at the end of the season that Claire is pregnant.

In the new official trailer released, it was shown that Claire is sporting her bigger baby bump as Jamie caresses it. The couple will also be in France, trying to end the Jacobite rising to "change the past" and "save their future."

Based on the trailer, the show will bring more action and battle scenes. Claire is even seen sporting fancier outfit. Despite the fight scenes and the focus on stopping the rebellion, fans won't miss the romance between Claire and Jamie.

With what's been given away by the trailer, fans still question where Jamie and Claire's daughter, Brianna, would fit in the picture.

The series is returning soon but there's no word yet on who gets to play the important role of Brianna.

In her recent interview with BBC Scotland, Diana Gabaldon, author of the book series that the show is based on, revealed that casting for Brianna is still not over. The production has been very careful about picking the right girl to play the part, Gabaldon explained.

When asked what she can share about Brianna, Gabaldon said there's nothing that she can give away because no one has been chosen yet.

As for the release date, the producers have not confirmed when season 2 of the Starz series returns to small screens.

However, fans need not wait that long because the show should arrive sometime in March or April next year, as revealed by show executive producer Ron Moore.
