'Outlander' Season 3 spoilers: Will Claire and Jamie manage to get back together?

The third season of "Outlander" will be based on Diana Gabaldon's novel "Voyager," and despite the absence of any news regarding its release, fans have other things to speculate upon. One of the primary aspects of concern is the equation between the show's central couple Claire and Jamie. As we saw at the end of Season 2, Claire went on to visit the future, while Jamie stayed on to fight in the Battle of Culloden.

International Business Times reports that Season 3 will pick up at a point in time that's around 20 years from where the Season 2 finale left off. Claire and Jamie are still torn apart by time, and, as Gabaldon confirmed, "Claire in the 20th century but 20 years on from where we left her and Jamie, of course, is still back in the 18th century but we pick him up immediately from where we last saw him which is here [at Culloden]."

According to Game & Guide, the author went on to reveal that aside from the tale of Jamie and Claire, Season 3 would go on to explore three other stories. It is also allegedly all set to venture into the story of Brianna, who is Claire and Jamie's daughter.

But in the meantime, Jamie apparently doesn't do so well when he's separated from Claire. Actor Sam Heughan, who essays the role of the main character in the series, admitted that Jamie becomes a completely different person on account of losing his love. Morning Ledger confirms this bit of news, and goes on to disclose that the actor said that this season would be very different from the others so far.

In other news, it appears as if the actors who portray the central couple on the show are actually dating off screen. But while this seemed to excite most fans, reports that followed the rumour denied any truth to these speculations.
