Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) will be a changed guy when "Outlander" returns for its third season.

Speculations claim that Jamie has been changed by the bloody events during the Battle of Culloden. After the Scots were defeated by the British Red Coats, reports claim that Jamie will resort to various illegal activities.

While the speculation about Jamie going rogue remains unconfirmed, Heughan revealed to Variety that Jamie and his wife Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will be reunited once again after being apart during the battle.

"There's a lot of challenges to season 3 — there's a period of time where Jamie and Claire are apart; he thinks that he's lost her, or at least that she's alive and well but in the future, so what is he living for? What sort of man is he now?" the actor said.

But he confirmed that Claire will eventually return to the 1700s, but the couple aged over the time that they were not together.

"She will eventually return, but they're both older, so what is Jamie, who is the man he's become" in the time since they last saw each other?

Heughan also hinted that Jamie will question the meaning of his existence after the war in season 3 since he already lost his true love.

Meanwhile, Balfe is more excited about Claire and Jamie's reunion next season.

"I think both of them have probably held each other up on a pedestal for 20 years, so in many ways, they're going to have to destroy that image first before they can fall in love with the person right in front of them, and that's going to be really interesting," the actress said.

Fans should also expect to see the changes in the dynamics between Claire and her daughter Brianna Randall (Sophie Skelton) once she returns to the past to meet up with Jamie.

Starz has yet to unveil the official premiere date of "Outlander" season 3.
