'Overwatch' beta release date news, character updates: A 'lifting legend'

Blizzard Entertainment is still pulling its socks up for "Overwatch," the newest multiplayer first-person shooter video game from the game studio. In the official Twitter account for the game, Blizzard teased about a character from the installment by posting a fake magazine cover with a silhouette of an unspecified character plastered markedly.

Texts surrounding the outline all talk of super strength and body building. The build of the character is unmistakably strapping, too. The character was dubbed in the magazine as the "Lifting Legend" and the "Bionic-Grade Boot Camp Body."

Blizzard captioned the photo: "What caused one weightlifting world champ hopeful to give up fame and glory? Find out in our March issue!"

A QR code at the bottom right of the photo reveals, when scanned, a line that says, "Together we are strong."

The overt talk of strength and clout suggests that the next warrior to be unveiled is a strongman whose fighting style will require no armaments. Who will be the new addition to the roster? It seems that Blizzard will give the character a face really soon.

Blizzard has already introduced a dozen characters set to combat in the deadly battleground of "Overwatch," which serves as the first franchise of the developer in 17 long years. Tracer, Reaper and Widowmaker will grace the arena, and so will Winston, Pharah, Reinhardt and Symmeria. Gamers will also see Torbjorn, Bastion and Hanzo in action as well as Mercy and Zenyatta.

The game studio is said to drop more details about "Overwatch" during the PAX East event, which is scheduled to take place from March 6 to in Boston. "Overwatch" was unveiled at the Blizzcon 2014 event and it was shown as a team-based shooter with graphics similar to that of Pixar. A beta for the title will be out later this year and those who want to try "Overwatch" in its underdone form can sign up here.
