Previously, it was said that Blizzard Entertainment would be surprising players soon as new content was said to appear for its multiplayer first-person shooter title "Overwatch." The studio did not disappoint, as a recent update has gone live, bringing new content to the game.

In an announcement on the official "Overwatch" website, Blizzard has rolled out the "Summer Games" DLC for the game, with Rio Olympics-inspired content. The new expansion adds a new Rio Olympics map and a new game mode, Lúcioball. In the new game mode, two teams of three players each will face off in the Estádio das Rãs, located in the Rio de Janeiro. A cross between soccer and mayhem play, the new game mode lasts for four minutes per session and players are allowed to punch their way to as many goals as they can get, and the map itself is home to a number of speed boost walls and jump pads.

Aside from the new items and gameplay features, the new DLC also tweaks the content for Loot Boxes. As a timed exclusive, "Overwatch" players can get new "Summer Games" items, and the new additons are especially guaranteed for seasonal Loot Boxes. Reportedly, there are at least 90 "Summer Games" items that players can get until the event ends on the third week.

Meanwhile, aside from "Summer Games," Blizzard is hinting at more seasonal themes for the game. The studio stated, "This is our very first seasonal event in Overwatch, but there are more on the horizon. We're not quite ready to reveal our plans, but you can expect to see more festive Loot Box items, maps, and modes in the future."

"Summer Games" is now live for "Overwatch" players on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The timed exclusive is unlocked for players until August 22.
