"Overwatch" fans are in for a huge treat when Blizzard reveals the much-hyped character, Doomfist.

Shortly after Blizzard released the new Uprising update, "Overwatch" director Jeff Kaplan teased the upcoming release of Doomfist. While he did not share any particulars about the anticipated character, Kaplan said Doomfist will be worth the wait.

"It's awesome seeing the amount of excitement for Doomfist," Kaplan told Express. "And Doomfist is an interesting character because he was in the announcement cinematic, so you saw the gauntlet there and I think it immediately seeded players' imaginations."

In the game's Numbani location, many references to Doomfist were made when Orisa was introduced. Since her backstory is heavily connected to Doomfist, the "Overwatch" gaming community has high expectations for the upcoming character. "I think when the time is right for people to learn more about Doomfist, they'll be pleased," the director added.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" actor Terry Crews has long been dropping hints that he will be voicing the game's mysterious character. Blizzard has yet to confirm the actor's rumored casting but thanks to a video released by Crews himself, fans may finally know more about the next "Overwatch" fighter at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which will be held in June.

Over the weekend, the 48-year-old actor streamed a 15-minute Facebook Live video giving fans an update on his latest PC build and upcoming projects. Crews dropped some exciting news at the 8:40 mark when he announced that he will be at E3 2017 with a "major surprise."

He did not explicitly say that his E3 appearance will be for "Overwatch" but upon reading Doomfist-related comments in the video, Crews laughed and simply said, "Ya'll know what it is." In the middle of the video, the former American football player gave another small hint when he booted up "Overwatch" on his new PC.

Developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, "Overwatch" is a team-based multiplayer shooter game available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
