After spending six weeks at the Blizzards new Esports Arena, North American Team Envyus swept the Overwatch Contenders (OWC) and became the first season's undefeated champs. The prize pool for the first season was $100,000 per region.

In the match bracket shown in Overwatch Contenders, Envyus scored a 3-0 win against FNRGFE. In the best-of-five semi-finals, Envyus dictated the pace of the match with their solid team defense. FNRGFE tried to answer with their own team rally, but it was all too late since Envyus just could not be beaten with their team synergy burning hot.

Faze Clan finished their semi-finals bracket against Envision, scoring a 3-1 win. They moved on to the North American finals against Envyus.

The clutch plays Envyus pulled in the semi-finals were on-point in the best-of-seven match against Faze Clan when the team scored another sweep, finishing with a 4-0 win. With the last match set in Route 66, fans could not really tell that another sweep was on its way. Faze Clan could not keep up with Envyus as they pulled one crunch play after another.

Taimou strategically shifted his Bastion from recon to sentry mode to secure the payload's advance in the waning parts of the last map. Faze Clan was forced to back up with Taimou's key area posts, also scoring some kills while moving to his next post.

"Of course, there is more than cash on the line — with organizations looking to fill rosters for the launch of Ovewatch League (OWL), all eyes will be watching this season's competitive showcase," stated OWC on their site.

Team Enyus will be playing as one of the first teams to compete in the first season of the much anticipated OWL under the name, Dallas Fuels.

OWC was hosted by Chris Puckett and was teamed up with Josh "Sideshow" Wilkinson for the live game analysis.
