It looks like "Overwatch" gamers won't be able to play Blizzard's hit first-person shooter game today.

According to a report by Gaming Bolt, Blizzard Entertainment has just announced that from 7 a.m. PST to 9 a.m. PST today, the developer will be conducting a scheduled maintenance for "Overwatch." Gamers that will try to login to the game during the said schedule will either experience low login processing periods or failed attempts at logins.

Though it is uncertain why Blizzard would be conducting a scheduled maintenance period for the game at this point in time, some have chopped the schedule down to either Competitive Play season 3 going live, the new buffs for Symmetra going live sooner than expected, or the Christmas Event finally arriving on "Overwatch."

Another possibility, of course, would be the maintenance having nothing do with any of the reasons mentioned earlier, turning out to be a regular check up so that Blizzard can send over a new patch to fix the bugs in "Overwatch." Gamers have just been overly excited for new dynamic updates to Blizzard's hit videogame, especially since the music and SFX for the "Overwatch" Christmas event has been data-mined earlier. Based on gamers' findings, it seems like players will be getting new character interactions and a brand new mode when the special Christmas event makes its way to the game.

As gamers continue itching for the special "Overwatch" event, Gamer Revolution tries to anticipate which hero will get the Santa skin from Blizzard. So far, names that have been drawn include Torbjorn, Roadhog, Reinhardt, and Winston — characters with large physiques, graying hair and Santa-like features.

However, though the four heroes all seem like debatable Santa figures, the most likely candidate to get the skin is Torbjorn. Imagine a reindeer-looking turret, a candy-cane decorated claw for a hand, a gun that shoots snowballs and a neat Santa Claus outfit — all these definitely make Torbjorn the perfect Santa for the "Overwatch" Christmas event.
