The upcoming film "Pacific Rim: Uprising" has revealed its very first trailer during the New York Comic Con. It definitely impressed audiences with its grand scale.

John Boyega, the new protagonist of the sequel movie, stars prominently in the trailer, which vividly captures a world at war against the giant interdimensional beasts called Kaiju. It features some heavy, metal busting clips and fast-paced action that may be indication of a bigger, more explosive "Pacific Rim" movie.

John Boyega's narrates over the trailer's clips with his British accent. "We were born into a world at war. Between the monsters that destroyed our cities and the monsters we created to stop them," said Boyega's character, Jake Pentecost.

The new protagonist is the son of the late Stacker Pentecost, who was played by Idris Elba and a prominent figure in the 2013 "Pacific Rim" original movie. In the sequel, Jake is an ex-Jaeger pilot who is given a chance by his adopted sister Mako Mori, portrayed by Rinko Kikuchi, to lead the effort in the fight against the Kaiju to save the world.

The trailer gave glimpses of how the Jaegers have improved in the 10 years since the events of the first movie. These giant robots now have new tricks up their sleeves, but will surely reveal more of their power and skill when the movie comes out in the first quarter of 2018.

On the other side of the war, the Kaiju also evolved and have become even more powerful and monstrous than their original film counterparts. In one scene, the Jaegers are shown looking up towards a Kaiju that seemingly towers over them.

Aside from Boyaga and Kikuchi, the film also stars Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Burn Gorman, Charlie Day, and Adria Arjona. "Pacific Rim: Uprising" is set to be released on March 23, 2018.
