Hi-Rez is the developer of mobile game "Paladins Strike," which is a promising multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) on global public test right now. But at the Hi-Rez expo, the developers also announced an upcoming mobile game called "Bot Smashers."

"Bot Smashers," unlike "Paladins Strike," is not a team game but played 1v1. From the screenshots shared at the expo, it seems that there is some base-building involved and the game can be classified as a light real-time strategy (RTS) game.

As the name implies, "Bot Smashers" involves managing and collecting resources to build structures to have bots fight for the player. Not much detail was revealed other than the screenshots, but those interested in the game may sign up for the beta testing at the official game website.

"Bot Smashers" seem to be designed for quick bursts of gaming, as Hi-Rez Chief Executive Officer Erez Goren mentioned that the game is meant as a substitute for waiting.

The CEO noticed that most online players were getting impatient while waiting at the queue for game matchmaking. It seemed that this upcoming game was designed around the idea that they players pass the time playing "Bot Smashers" instead of waiting during the matchmaking phases.

It is likely that "Bot Smashers" will be free-to-play on launch.

Meanwhile after its soft launch last year, "Paladins Strike" continues to be in development simultaneously with playtesting. The game is expected to be a hit among fans of MOBA shooters, especially those who prefer their gaming mobile, with a smartphone.

Hi-Rez is also the developer of "Smite," a MOBA inspired by such popular titles as "DOTA 2" and "League of Legends." The Hi-Rez Expo is where the developer showcases all their upcoming games, along with promising features and gameplay footage for their fans.
