Jailbreak fans can now start downloading the complete jailbreaking tool package with Cydia after the PanguTeam released the Pangu8 v1.1 on Oct. 31.

The latest jailbreak tool released can be used untethered on various Apple Inc. devices such as the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, all iPad variants, as well as the iPod touch 5.

Here are some reminders before Apple users can start the jailbreak process in their devices using the Pangu8 v1.1:

  • Turn off all lock screen passcode, Touch ID and Find My iPhone settings and allot storage space before starting the Pangu jailbreak steps. These settings can be turned on again once the installation of the Pangu with Cydia software is complete.
  • Turn on the Airplane mode.
  • Make sure that the iTunes version of iOS 8 or 8.1 is installed on the device to make the jailbreak work.
  • Backup the device completely using iTunes or iClouds before pushing through will all the jailbreak procedures, since there is a possibility that the data installed may be deleted.
  • To run the jailbreak tool, have the iTunes 12.0.1 or later installed in the PC and make sure that it is running while the process is running.
  • Make sure that the supporting firmware in the device is not later than the 8.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.2, or 8.1 versions.

Steps to jailbreak iOS 8 and 8.1 devices with the use of Pangu:

  • Download the Pangu8 v1.1 through this link.
  • Right-click on the icon of Pangu, then choose Run as Administrator.
  • Once Pangu is already activated, connect the selected device using USB.
  • Select the "Start Jailbreak" button located at the center of the display, then click "Already did" on the next screen to start the actual jailbreaking process. If the device suddenly reboots, this is normal.
  • Once the "Jailbreak succeeded" notification appears on screen, it means that the jailbreak process is already finished.

Although the current jailbreak app is only applicable for Windows PC, the Chinese jailbreak development team promises to release the OS X version sometime soon.
