Pope Francis U.S. itinerary, schedule for Washington DC, NYC and Philadelphia
Pope Francis is heading to the United States and Washington, D.C. will be his first stop.
WTOP reported that the pope will arrive in the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Andrews Air Force Base. Where he will be staying overnight is not disclosed.
According to the report, the pope will stay in the capital for two days and his itinerary include meeting with President Barack Obama and the first lady, as well as meeting with Congress members, area bishops and delegates from local charities.,
On Wednesday, Sept. 23, the pope will visit the White House and after that, he will be parading a part of the National Mall. The Archdiocese of Washington has confirmed that the pope will tour The Ellipse and the mall, the report stated.
The next day, Sept. 24, he will be at the U.S. Capitol to meet with the Congress. After that, he will visit St. Patrick's Church downtown.

At 5 p.m. on Sept. 24, the pope will arrive at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. An evening prayer will be held at 6:45 p.m. at St. Patrick's Cathedral, but this will only be open to the cathedral's clergy, as reported in Patch.
When in New York City, the itinerary for Friday, Sept. 25, includes a visit to the United Nations General Assembly; religious service at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum; visit to Our Lady Queen of Angels School in East Harlem; and a 6 p.m. mass to be held at the Madison Square Garden.
Pope Francis will leave New York at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, and will arrive at the Atlantic Aviation on the same day at 9:30 a.m.
While in Philadelphia, the itinerary includes holding a mass at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul; a visit to the Independence Mall and Festival of Families on Benjamin Franklin Parkway; and a visit to the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility, where inmates built the chair that the pontiff will sit on.
On Sunday, Sept. 27, Pope Francis will be leaving for Rome.
