It has been a few days since Epic Games has released a statement that they will be shutting down their multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) "Paragon." Although they claim to not have a large player base, these fans are at least staying loyal to the game. So much is so that these fans are signing a petition to cancel the shutdown.

"I put forward the idea that Epic keep the servers for Paragon open even if they leave the game as it is right now I would be more than happy," reads the description of the petition on Change.org. "All I want is to come home and be able to turn on paragon and play with my friends, what am I going to do now?"

The description pretty much sums up why players have been signing it. As of writing, the petition has over 27,000 signatures and increasing. While there is a lot of discussion going on elsewhere on the page, most of the fans have headed over to the game's subreddit where they have posted more suggestions.

In the "Paragon" subreddit, most of the posts are about how the community is now looking for a new developer for the game. This stems from one of their suggestions that many people agree on, which is to make the game open source. Others even suggested to hand over the development of the game to another company.

Even if the petition gets a lot more signatures than it already has, as many have also thought, it will be highly unlikely for Epic Games to be looking at a petition. They would have to consider a lot of other factors aside from the loyal player base. Right now, Epic Games is having huge success with "Fornite," which is the reason for the development team for "Paragon" to be moved to "Fortnite."

Although the petition has been made since the announcement, Epic Games has not yet mentioned any update on the game. "Paragon" is set to close on April 26 unless Epic Games chooses to do something else with it.
