Pastor Mark Driscoll finds home for his new Trinity Church in Phoenix suburb
Former Mars Hill pastor Mark Driscoll is going full speed ahead with the improvements of his new church, The Trinity Church, since he has just purchased a permanent home for it.
The Trinity Church will be moving to the historic church building in a Phoenix suburb, Driscoll announced on his website. "We have officially purchased our historic church home in Scottsdale, Arizona! Every family needs a home, and this one is a wonderful fit for our church family," he writes.
Driscoll adds that he's very appreciative of all the hard work of many volunteers who have already gotten the "50-year-old mid-century modern church home ready for our public launch on August 7th at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m."
Church members still have a lot of work to do, but Driscoll says their new home already looks amazing. The pastor is particularly giddy about painting the exterior "back to the period-correct colours that originally adorned the building."
Purchasing the church building was no easy feat, since the Maricopa County Assessor's Office revealed that the church's evaluated cash value for fiscal year 2017 is a whopping $21,265,300. But Driscoll said The Trinity Church family received a lot of "generous donations" not only from church members, "but also from friends of The Trinity Church that just want to help support this new Church plant."
He continues, "It's your generosity that has helped to make this happen, and to each one of you, I'm very humbled and grateful. Thank You! God has proven faithful every step of the way, so we trust in His continued provision."
The church building Driscoll bought is a 1,400-seat Glass and Garden Church located at 8620 McDonald Drive, according to The Christian Post. The Trinity Church family seem to be enamoured with the new location, since they already rented it during their Easter gathering earlier this year.
