Televangelist Pat Robertson from "The 700 Club" does not believe that women should become warriors, and likened those who train for combat to masochists.

"The feminists have gotten to a point where women are going to be drafted and put into combat units," Robertson said during the Thursday edition of his show. "Why would any woman in her right mind want that?"

When his co-host Wendy Griffith remarked that "there are women warriors," Robertson called them "amazons" and expressed his distaste of women fighters.

"You're living in trenches and eating K-rations and there's mud and all the rest. Why would anybody want that?" he asked.

Griffith did not seem to agree with him, saying she "would go if I could take my makeup," although she acknowledged that she is "not a good candidate, but I think there are some women that feel that call."

"Maybe there's a masochistic thing they want," Robertson said. "That's bondage, that's 'Fifty Shades of Grey' squared. You're looking at somebody that's been there, done that. It ain't something for a woman."

"Fifty Shades of Grey" is a novel that was made into a movie written by E.L. James about a couple who finds love even though they engaged heavily in BDSM sex.

Earlier, the right-wing pastor criticised Islam and said that it might just be a good thing for the Islamic State (ISIS) to sow its seeds of terror since the jihadist group is showing the world the religion's true colours.

"You wonder. Maybe the best thing that ever happened to the world is for these crazies in ISIS to keep on beheading people and doing some of these extreme things," he said. "Listen, you've heard all this business about Islam being a religion of peace. Islam does not mean 'peace', it means 'submission'."
