'Path of Exile' patch updates: Players need to capture and not kill monsters
It has been years since the early access launch of "Path of Exile" but new content just keeps getting dropped. With a massive update on the way to the "Diablo"-like game, old players will surely reconsider coming back to the game. This new update will have a new feature that will need players to only capture and not kill the monsters.
The update, called the "Bestiary" update, aptly adds the Bestiary Challenge League, which is mainly why players will need to capture monsters. These monsters will be stored in a place called the Managerie in which players will be able to showcase the great monsters they have captured along their journey.
Players can even talk to other non-player characters (NPCs) about the monster they have captured to learn new interesting information. Those who want to get better weapons and armor can even do so by sacrificing the captured monster through a process called "Beastcrafting." Players sacrifice the beast for other key monster parts.
However, this will not automatically grant the player the weapon as another boss will be summoned that he/she needs to defeat to get the weapon or armor. According to the patch notes, there are about 250 regular beasts and 40 legendary ones available for capture.
Interestingly, with the right combination, players will get a chance to beat a new end-game beast that has never been in the game before. Speaking of which, end-game players can challenge both The Elder and The Shaper at the same time with this update to test their true skills.
Developers Grinding Gear Games actually has a lot more content planned throughout the year. According to GameSpot, the game's lead designer, Chris Wilson, mentioned that they have "got some weird stuff lined up for June, a larger one in September, and of course we're planning a mega-one sometime in the future."
