Chucklefish Limited, the independent British publisher of "Stardew Valley" and "Starbound," will publish the upcoming strategy adventure with turn-based combat role-playing game (RPG) "Pathway."

Chucklefish announced the news in a post on the game studio's blog on Mar. 12. The publisher highlighted the remarkable effect of the Pixel/Voxel Hybrid Technology utilized by the developers of the turn-based RPG, Robotality, to enhance the game's "gorgeous and detailed pixel art with depth, lighting and shadows."

According to the Steam page of the game, "Pathway" is set in the year 1936 — a time of global unrest due to the spreading German military influence throughout Europe and the Middle East. There have been rumors circulating in secret communication channels about terrible occult rituals and frantic excavations done by the Nazis to find strange artifacts. The players' friend, who goes by the name Morten, had suddenly gone missing and players are tasked to rescue him before it's too late. It appears that the Nazis had taken him because he had impeded with the Germans' occult research.

The key features of the game include the following — thrilling visuals courtesy of the Pixel/Voxel Hybrid Technology mentioned earlier, dynamic adventures for players to enjoy as each campaign generates a new procedural map and a different set of unique story encounters and tough choices for players to make. Moreover, the game will also feature a choice for players to recruit 16 unique companions with their respective starting equipment and skill trees.

Consequently, the game features decisive conflicts where players will learn how to maximize their items, abilities, team member's strengths and weaknesses and best positioning in the turn-based squad combat. In addition, the game will allow players to discover rare artifacts and other hidden treasures which they can use to unlock new content and adventures.

"Pathway" is scheduled to release for Microsoft Windows, Mac and Linux sometime this 2018. Interested players may add the game to their Steam Wishlist.
