"Payday 2" has finally scored a release date on Nintendo Switch.

Game developer Starbreeze Studios and 505 Games have announced that the heist shooter game will be available physically and digitally on Switch starting February. For players from Europe and Australia it is Feb. 23, while for Switch owners from North and South America, it is on Feb. 27.

As of press time, there are no details yet on what content the Switch release will include, or how much it would be.

First released in 2013, "Payday 2" is an action-packed, multiplayer co-op shooter, where players get paid by robbing banks. The crew, which consists of up to four players, can upgrade their characters as the game progresses. For every successful heist, the job and the payment become bigger. Players can use their earned money to customize their characters, skill sets, weapons, and gears. Apart from wealth, robbing banks also brings fame, as it puts players on the Legendary Criminal list.

After over 160 paid and free updates -- that came with extra missions, characters, and tons of creepy masks -- this would be the first time "Payday 2" would be released on a Nintendo console.

The game's move to Switch was first hinted at the Nintendo Direct back in April. It was previously believed that it would hit the Switch console by winter this year, but the game developers have announced otherwise.

The original game, "Payday," is a cooperative first-person shooter franchise that has sold over 16 million copies on PC, SteamOS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS 4, and Xbox One. That number should massively grow with the game's Switch release. After all, the Nintendo console has over 10 million users and counting, considering it was only launched in March this year.

A "Payday 2" virtual reality feature is available on beta for HTC Vive, as well as other headsets on Steam.
