'Persona 5' release date: Sequel to arrive in Europe and U.S. on same day

It was previously said that the release of "Persona 5" in the U.S. will be early next year. Now it is confirmed that European fans will get the new sequel on the same day as North America.

Publisher Deep Silver has confirmed the release date of "Persona 5" for Europe. Announcing the release date, the publisher also revealed that aside from the regular edition, the roll-out of the game also includes the special "Steelbook" and "Premium" editions. When it is released, the game will have a £54.99 / €69.99 price tag for the PlayStation 4. At the same time, the game will also release for the PS3, with a £39.99 / €49.99 price tag.

It is also revealed that fans who will get the PS4 version at the launch date can also get the "Steelbook Launch Edition" for the price of the regular version. Meanwhile, the "Take Your Heart" Premium Edition for the PS4 is priced at £79.99 / €89.99. The premium, collector's item version includes the steelbook case, a soundtrack CD, a four inch (or 10 cm) Morgana Plush, a 64-page hardcover art book, a school bag, and a collectible outer box.

The game launches in the U.S. and Europe on Feb. 14, 2017. Prior to the launch, "Persona 5" will be a Japan exclusive, launching in the country next month. The release comes out with the game, an anime special and a new manga.

Since "Persona 5" will roll out starting next month, new details have emerged for the upcoming sequel. A new ad has been released for the game, this time showcasing Makoto Niijima, one of the members of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. "Persona 5" follows the story of the main protagonist, another member of the team, as he and the Phantom Thieves raid dungeons and try to master their inner Persona beings.
