Earlier this year, fans expected "Persona 5" to be one of the games they would be able play in 2015. Unfortunately, release of the game has been delayed thus far, and the most recent reports now suggest that it might not be officially launched until the summer.

News of the new release window came from the game's director Katsura Hashino. According to Hashino, the summer release window is currently expected only for Europe, although he did not reiterate if it would be earlier or even later for other regions, N4BB reported.

The official reasons behind why "Persona 5" has been delayed have not been made public by Atlus, although it's been suggested that the main culprit has simply been the lengthy development process. Fans can only hope that the "Persona 5" they will get will ultimately be worth the wait it has necessitated.

Even without a release date, details of the game have made it online, and they are enough to provide fans with a reasonable idea of what to expect.

This time around, the story of "Persona 5" is expected to deviate a bit from its predecessor. Whereas "Persona 4" featured the heroes tracking down a mysterious suspect, the next game is said to pit the main characters in the role of those who are now being hunted down, Gamespot reported.

Some of the main characters of "Persona 5" have also been revealed, with the game's protagonist known as the Phantom. The other main characters that have been confirmed for the game include Ann Takamaki, Ryuki Sakamoto, and Morgana.

Exploring dungeons in "Persona 5" will also reportedly be different than in previous installments of the franchise. This time around, players will reportedly be given the ability to jump while exploring a new area as well as moving quickly between locations.

More news about "Persona 5" is expected to come out before the year comes to a close.
