The highly anticipated JRPG from Atlus, "Persona 5," has an official release date. The previously reported countdown has led to a Nico Nico stream revealing a new trailer and the confirmation that the game will launch for the PS3 and PS4 in Japan this coming Sept. 15.

However, as stated in a report from IGN, there is no announcement for a U.S. release date. Despite this, the game is still scheduled to release in the West before the end of the year, hinting that the game may launch in October, with fans speculating that the English localization will arrive by the middle of the month.

At the latest, the game may launch just in time for the holidays in December.

While "Persona 5" is going to launch for both the PS3 and PS4 in Japan, only the PS4 version is going to be ported to North America. This is most likely due to the fact that the PS4 has completely phased out the PS3 in the United States and releasing a PS3 port of the game wouldn't account to much of a profit for Atlus.

The announcement trailer also showcases new characters, game mechanics and a closer look at the game's aesthetic style. There are also clips showcasing how the player traverses the world and its dungeons while also giving audiences a better look at the intricate battle system. 

Included in the announcement is the confirmation of a special twentieth-year anniversary Collector's Edition of "Persona 5." This will come with an art book, a full soundtrack that includes music from previous games in the franchise, special DLC that is inspired by the series as a whole such as costumes from "Persona 3" and "Persona 4" and will be available for 13,800 Yen or approximately $128 USD. 

There are no confirmations about a Western release of the Collector's Edition or if there will be a different form of limited edition and pre-order bonuses for the game's Western release.
