'Persona 5' release date U.S.: release in Japan around the same time as North America? Europe launch not yet confirmed

The U.S. release date of "Persona 5" is expected to be announced at E3.Atlus

"Persona 5" has been officially been announced for release in both Japan and the United States, and a European launch is yet to be confirmed.

Earlier this week, a rumor emerged about the launch of the latest "Persona" game in the region. It got viral in a heartbeat, prompting Atlus Public Relations manager John Hardin to step in.

"Sorry Europe, but once again, rumors gonna rume. Don't believe them," he tweeted, hinting that "Persona 5" might not be released in the region.

Developer Atlus has released the last two "Persona" titles before "Persona 5" in Europe although it waited almost a year after the Japan release to bring the game to the said location.

Since "Persona 5" is expected to be released in Japan this year, with the US version to follow shortly, the European launch might take place next year, if there will be one.

It will likely take place three to six months after the North America release. Whether or not "Persona 5" will be brought to Europe, fans should hear about it soon.

As for the US release of "Persona 5," Atlus has been cutting down the interval between the launch to the said reguon from the initial Japanese release. That being said, gamers in the US might not have to wait that long for the upcoming role-playing video game.

More information about the release of "Persona 5" in various regions is expected to be revealed at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016.

Atlus has confirmed its appearance in the event. IGN believes that since the E3 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the US, the game's western release date might officially be revealed there.

"Persona 5" follows high school students who address the city's corruption and work to gain freedom from societal pressures. The game will boast new characters and personas.
