The Boston Celtics did enjoy success last season despite all the wheeling and dealing in their lineup. Making the playoffs was something everyone overlooked but the fact remains that the Cetics are on the right track.

They are entering the season with an injury-free lineup that will hopefully hold up for the entire season. They have a new vet in David Lee whom they acquired from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Gerald Wallace, toughening up the frontline all the more.

Are these assets enough to take the Celtics to the next level? Well, if they continue to use the same formula and hopefully get an added boost from Lee, it is possible.

The Sixers, on the other hand, seem to end the forever rebuilding process as well. The team has never gotten any headway in past years, trading away their top picks for cash consideration and some players way past their prime. But things may just be different this season.

The Sixers surprising landed Jahlil Okafor and paired with Nerlens Noel, the Sixers have one of the promising frontcourts in the league.

But what the Sixers have up front is what they lack in the backcourt. They have a couple of less heralded guards to fill up the void in Isaiah Canaan and JaKarr Sampson. However and given the benefit of the doubt, these guys could come up with surprises.

It makes you wonder what if the Sixers kept Michael Kidd-Gilchrist or maybe Evan Turner. The Sixers could have been one of the best teams had they put all these guys together.

Well, all that is academic at this point, and the obvious favorite here are the Celtics.

The Boston Celtics host the Philadelphia 76ers at the TD Garden today starting at 7:30 p.m. EST. The match will be broadcast via Comcast SportsNet, while live streaming of the game may be found here.
