A struggling Philadelphia 76ers squad will try to end a losing skid and close out their preseason with a win when they play against the Boston Celtics at the Verizon Wireless Arena this Friday.

The 76ers have lost their last three preseason games against the New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, and the Brooklyn Nets.

In last Sunday's 92–91 defeat to the Nets, budding center Nerlens Noel led the way for Philadelphia with a double-double 15 points and 11 rebounds, also having five assists, six steals, and two blocks.

This year's third-overall pick, center Jahlil Okafor, also had a standout performance, tallying 14 points, five rebounds, and one assist in a losing effort.

The 76ers' game versus the Celtics will be their last of the preseason before opening the 2015-16 regular season against the same team on Oct. 28.

Boston, on the other hand, is looking for its third consecutive win in the preseason with its last game a bounce back performance against the New York Knicks.

The Celtics lost in their first meeting against the Knicks in the preseason but won 99–85 Thursday in the second game.

Forward Jared Sullinger paced the Celtics, scoring 16 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and three blocks.

Helping Sullinger was center Tyler Zeller and forward Jae Crowder who contributed 15 and 13 points, respectively, also combining for 12 rebounds.

The Celtics' matchup with Philadelphia will be the last game in the team's preseason schedule this year as they open the regular season on Oct. 28 also facing the same team, as previously mentioned.

Boston has been playing very well in the preseason with new pieces like big men David Lee and Amir Johnson meshing great with young players like Crowder, Sullinger, Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, and Isaiah Thomas, to name a few.

The Eastern Conference showdown between the 76ers and Celtics will be played today, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
