A familiar face returned to action in the National Football League (NFL) last Sunday as quarterback Tim Tebow, who is now playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, entered the third quarter and finished their first game of the preseason. 

The Eagles won convincingly against the Indianapolis Colts 36–10 and will be in a match with the Baltimore Ravens next. 

Eagles quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley were the first ones called to orchestrate the offense before Tebow stepped on the field again after a two-year hiatus.

Tebow entered with seven minutes left in the third quarter and received a standing ovation from the fans at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. 

The 28-year-old started well, completing five of his first six passes for 61 yards; but he struggled since then completing just one of six in his next passes. 

Tebow was also sacked three times with two of those coming on third down in the fourth quarter. 

But the highlight for the former Heisman Trophy winner is when he ran for a seven-yard touchdown, following a Colts turnover in the fourth quarter. 

"It was fun. Playing ball. I loved it. You want to be focused on footwork, reads, communication with everybody but also enjoy the moment. You won't always have it," Tebow said following the game, according to ESPN. 

He added that he is thankful and is humbled by the support the crowd gave him, which meant a lot to him. 

Regarding his errors during the game, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly came to Tebo's rescue. 

"A different set of receivers was in when Tim was in, and a different line at times. A couple of those, you're wondering, 'why is he doing that?' Well, the receiver ran the wrong route. There were a couple of busts out there," Kelly said, according to ESPN. 

Overall it was not a bad performance for Tebow who was six of 12 with his passes for 69 yards and carried the ball four times for 15 yards with one touchdown.
