The Philadelphia Eagles have yet to get the best of last season's Offensive Player of the Year running back DeMarco Murray. Now, it is uncertain if he could play in Week 3 against the New York Jets because of a hamstring injury.

Murray was unable to finish Wednesday's practice and went through a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) after leaving, according to ESPN.

The two-time Pro Bowler was not available to the media after Wednesday's practice finished.

Murray underwent thorough tests and results revealed a hamstring tweak, which is not considered a major injury.

The 27-year-old running back did not practice last Thursday, and in a report by NFL.com, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said Murray is still being evaluated ahead of their game against the Jets.

Murray has not created any impact with the Eagles yet, only having 21 carries for 11 yards and one touchdown in two games played this season.

Those games were losses to the Atlanta Falcons and Murray's former team the Dallas Cowboys, leaving Philadelphia in a 0–2 hole to start the 2015 season.

Murray's performance this season in two games is far from his showing last season when he was hailed as the best offensive player in the National Football League (NFL).

In 16 games played in the 2014 season for the Cowboys, the former Oklahoma Sooner rushed for 1,845 yards (NFL rushing leader) and 13 touchdowns.

The Eagles will be relying on running back Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles if Murray will be out in Week 3.

Matthews has rushed for four yards and one touchdown in two games played this 2015, while Sproles rushed for 46 yards also in two appearances this season.

Philadelphia will have to work hard especially on offense since the Jets are being known for their defense this season and are still undefeated.

The Jets are starting their season right capturing wins over the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts and looking to make it three consecutive facing the Eagles.
