The Philadelphia Eagles found their third string quarterback and it is not Tim Tebow as they claimed Stephen Morris off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Morris was an undrafted quarterback from the University of Miami signed by the Jaguars after the 2014 National Football League (NFL) Draft.

He was with the Jaguars' practice squad in 2014 and according to ESPN, was with the team during its training camp this year but was waived last Saturday.

The number three quarterback position for the Eagles started with a competition between Tebow and Matt Barkley during training camp and preseason.

Tebow's chances of landing the job for the Eagles became clearer when Barkley was traded to the Arizona Cardinals last Friday.

Before that Tebow had an impressive game against the New York Jets in their final preseason outing last Thursday when he outperformed Barkley having 11 completions for 189 yards and two touchdowns, although he threw an interception.

But one day after Barkley was traded, Tebow was also unable to secure the job as his efforts were not enough to make the cut for Philadelphia.

ESPN reported that following Tebow's release last Saturday, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said he will be adding a no. 3 quarterback either on the roster or the practice squad.

Philadelphia did find that quarterback in Morris who has experienced being a starter in four years playing for Miami.

During his junior and senior years with the Hurricanes, Morris played and started in a total of 25 games.

Now a part of the Eagles, the 23-year-old will be behind starter Sam Bradford and backup Mark Sanchez on the depth chart.

The Eagles are aiming to reach the postseason in the upcoming 2015 season after failing to make it last year finishing the regular season with a 10–6 record.

They will be opening their 2015 campaign on the road on Sept. 13 facing the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome.
