Philadelphia Eagles roster news 2015: Search for franchise quarterback continues

The Philadelphia Eagles currently occupy the third position in the National Football Conference (NFC) Eastern Division with a 3–4 record, but the Eagles seem to have their work cut out for themselves if they intend to make a good run heading to the second half of the NFC playoffs.

The team has glaring holes and its knack for coming up short in wins leaves a lot to be desired. In fact, the Eagles have yet to defeat a team with a winning record. For head coach Chip Kelly, he may have to address the missing links to see the Eagles function smoothly.

With that in mind, Sam Bradford quarterbacking comes into question. Is he really the right man to be at the forefront of the Eagles?

Sam Bradford was initially groomed to be the next franchise player of the Eagles but things haven't exactly panned out along that line. Bradford ended up with the Eagles in a trade involving the St. Louis Rams for Nick Foles. The celebrated move was seen as something that would not end there, although Kelly continues to stand by the notion that Bradford is the right guy to quarterback.

Sadly, folks who have seen the Eagles' games lately aren't convinced that Bradford is the right guy. With that said, coach Kelly's search for the right guy to quarterback continues.

One guy whom the Eagles may want to look at seriously is Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are reportedly looking to trade Kaepernick so coach Kelly may want to look into that.

Kaepernick is looking like a reasonable pick, considering he can run, and such makes him a fit to Kelly's system.

Had the Eagles looked into that before the NFL trade deadline, Kaepernick could have probably done better than Bradford, although his decision-making on which teammate to trust does need some looking into.

With that said, it could boil down to who between Kaepernick and Bradford is the lesser risk. If the former brings more issues, Kelly may have to expand his search for other available quarterbacks in the league.
