The Phoenix Suns are not in very good shape this season and that was proven last Wednesday, when forward Markieff Morris and guard Archie Goodwin pushed each other following what appeared to be an argument during a timeout.

Phoenix was playing against this season's best team in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the defending champions Golden State Warriors Wednesday when the incident took place.

Cameras caught Goodwin sitting on the bench while Morris was standing and seems to be discussing the previous play. Morris came closer and as his teammates tried to calm him down, the two engaged in a physical altercation which led to shoving.

Center Tyson Chandler was the first to step in and separate the two before their other teammates tried to get them away from each other.

"That was nothing. That was part of being a leader and big brother," Morris said, according to ESPN.

The 26-year-old forward added, "Of course it looks bad. Everything I do looks bad."

Morris and Goodwin continued to play in the game following the scuffle and they finished with 19 and 20 points, respectively.

Sadly for the Suns, their efforts went to waste as they absorbed their ninth consecutive defeat, falling to the 14th spot in the Western Conference standings with a 14–40 record.

The recent event that took place is another issue attached to Morris, who is notorious with the Suns because of his past actions.

During the offseason, the former Kansas Jayhawk wanted to be traded after Phoenix shipped his twin brother, Marcus, to the Detroit Pistons.

This season, before former head coach Jeff Hornacek was fired, Morris threw a towel at him during a game because he was taken out, the action led to a two-game suspension.

It is uncertain what the Suns plan to do with Morris, who is under contract with the team until the 2018–19 season.
