'Pillars of Eternity' expansion: 'The White March: Part One' release date Aug. 25

"The White March: Part One" expansion will be coming out on Aug. 25 for "Pillars of Eternity."

A whole lot of new content will be coming to "Pillars of Eternity" via the upcoming patch.

For starters, players can obtain new items and abilities upon the release of the expansion, though specific details about these bits of new content have yet to be revealed.

Aside from the new things players can obtain in "The White March: Part One," they will also be given an all new realm to explore, according to Gamespot. Upon venturing into the new realm, players will be greeted by the sight of new monk and rogue companions. The new realm will not be entirely unfamiliar to players as it has drawn inspiration from Icewind Dale.

Apart from all the new content that players can look forward to in "The White March: Part One," there will also be an entirely different storyline to keep gamers engaged. The story is the work of "Pillars of Eternity" writers Eric Fenstermaker and Carrie Patel. Unfortunately, specific details about the storyline of "The White March: Part One" have yet to be revealed at this time.

With the first expansion for "Pillars of Eternity" given an official release date, players can now also start looking out for the game's 2.0 update. Update 2.0 will be making some significant changes to the game, according to PC Gamer. As of now, the most significant changes that players can expect from update 2.0 include new character stealth and party AI.

Considering the name of the first expansion is "The White March: Part One," players are naturally wondering when to start looking out for the second part. At this point, the game's developer, Obsidian Entertainment, has yet to offer any official word about the expansion's continuation.
