Obsidian Entertainment has announced on its official blog and forums that "Pillars of Eternity: The White March" Part 2 will release in late January 2016. According to the post, the developers will announce a more specific release date in a following update. 

"The White March" Part 2, a direct sequel to the first expansion "The White March," will take place in the Eastern Reach of the game's world, Eora. It will introduce a new "Story Time" mode, which is reportedly going to hasten the pace of the game's narrative and will include a new companion, the barbarian Meneha.

New quests, skills and items will also be added. The second expansion will also raise the maximum level cap from 14 to 16 or higher. "The White March" Part 1 raised the level cap from 12 to 14 so it is expected that the level cap will again increase by 2. Part 1 also introduced multi-classing, which is expected to be explored further in Part 2.

Obsidian Entertainment also posted several concept art on their forum, showcasing the insect-like Vithrack brutes and Vithrack luminaries. 

The first expansion pack, which released last August, is available for $14.99 when purchased separately and it is likely the second part will cost the same. Both expansion packs can be purchased together for $24.99 in the "Pillars of Eternity: The White March Expansion Pass."

As stated in a report from IGN, "Pillars of Eternity" has proven to be a massive success for developers Obsidian Entertainment, having sold well over 500,000 copies worldwide. This success is even more noticeable considering that the game was funded primarily via Kickstarter instead of a major game publisher.

"Pillars of Eternity" is seen as a triumphant return to CRPG titles and is very reminiscent of "Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn," "Icewind Dale" and "Planescape Torment." Following the success of the "Pillars of Eternity" came more CRPG titles such as "Divinity: Original Sin" and the recently launched "Sword Coast Legends."
