Great news for fans of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as the fifth movie finally has a release date.

Fans only need to wait for a few months before Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow sets sail for a new adventure, this time leveling up his quest by looking for none other than the trident of Poseidon.

Captain Sparrow will be back in moviehouses on May 26, 2017.

According to the movie's official IMDB page, Depp will be joined by the Maze Runner's Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smyth, an astronomer and academician who is fighting for women's rights to pursue a university degree.

According to the actress, she will join Captain Sparrow's quest for the Trident using a diary to find clues on the whereabouts of the mysterious artifact.

Orlando Bloom's character, Will Turner will also be making a comeback for the fifth movie after sitting out At World's End.

Another young actor, Brendan Thwaites, who has starred in The Giver, and most recently in Gods of Egypt will also be playing the role of Henry Turner, who may turn out to be Will's son.

"I presume that Henry actually turns out to be Will Turner's son on a quest to find his father and the infamous pirate who died before becoming a captain. Hence the name Dead Man Tell No Tales," Thwaites said of his role.

Meanwhile, Javier Bardem will be playing the role of Captain Salazar, who has a beef to settle with Captain Sparrow for the death of his brother.

Bardem's character seeks to destroy every pirate who is alive at sea and Jack Sparrow seeks to put a stop to this by harnessing the power of Poseidon's trident which gives the wielder control over the seas.

It can be recalled that the film release faced several delays due to script and budget problems.
