Google is already dealing with issues regarding their newest smartphone, the Pixel 2 XL. After having been released in October, there are already been complaints with its touchscreen function.

Many users of the Pixel 2 XL are discussing the issue on the Pixel User Community online forum. According to their reports, the unresponsiveness of the touchscreen mechanism happens on the right side of the screen.

One individual said, "There is a fairly large area in the bottom right corner that is unresponsive and the taps aren't registered. It's much larger than the curve of the screen."

Another user even made a video review of the product showing the touchscreen problem. A small screen area on the left side of the Pixel 2 XL is also unresponsive according to other comments.

Google has already addressed the issue and stated that they are working on an update to resolve the problem. On Nov. 11, a Pixel User Community manager going by the alias Orrin wrote, "Thanks for all the reports here, and those that sent up additional info. The team has been investigating, and this will be addressed in a future OTA [over-the-air] update." There was no indicated release date for the update.

Apart from the unresponsive touchscreen, there are also other issues raised by users about the Pixel 2 XL. Most of the complaints are about the display and the screen quality. Some people also reported a frequency noise they hear every time they make or receive a call.

Despite all these issues, the Pixel 2 XL still received high ratings from critics. TechRadar gave the Pixel 2 XL a 4.5 out of 5 score, and it received a 9 out of 10 from TrustedReviews.

Google is not the only one dealing with issues with their products. Apple is also addressing a hardware problem of their own with their newest iPhone X. Just like with the Pixel 2 XL, the X edition's problem has something to do with the display.
