Ever since its release in 2017, online multiplayer shooting game "Player Unknown's Battlegrounds" has gained massive popularity. The multiplayer game earned even more recognition when an Xbox version was released in December 2017. While the game's ever-growing popularity brought players flocking to the game, it also brought with it a very bad problem for the game and its developers — cheaters.

Since "Player Unknown Battlegrounds" became an iconic battle royale bonanza, the game has suffered from problems involving cheating during competitive play. The cheating was so rampant that many of the game's fans took to online forums like Reddit to complain about their problems.

The game's developers — PUBG Corporation — have tried time and time again to rid the game of cheaters, but have yet to find a long-term solution to the problem. Recently, PUBG Corporation decided to disable "Player Unknown Battleground's" family-sharing mechanic on Steam.

The family-sharing system allows players to share their game library with friends and family, allowing them to play any of the games available in the library without having to purchase them. It is a great way to share games with friends but PUBG Corporation decided to put an end to it, in hopes of limiting a single copy to the person who purchased the game — that way, if cheaters want to play "Player Unknown's Battlegrounds" they will have to purchase it and risk giving their own accounts away.

"Player Unknown's Battlegrounds" is currently available for purchase on Steam.

The official synopsis on the game's page reads:

"Player Unknown's Battleground is a last-man-standing shooter being developed with community feedback. Players must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a massive 8x8 km island to be the lone survivor. This is Battle Royale."

In "Player Unknown's Battlegrounds," players are dropped into different areas of a map. The areas are filled with other people and a handful of weapons, and the goal of the game is to survive and take out the competition. It is a free-for-all where the winner walks away victorious and the losers get blown to bits.
