Players want Spider-Man's combo banned from 'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite'

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" has yet again divided the gaming community with others saying that the game developers should ban a Spider-man's inescapable combo, while some say that it should stand.

Unending combos have always been part of a fighting game that features characters from Capcom and Marvel. Veteran gamers would date this seemingly new scenario to new gamers back to the days of "Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter," or even with "X-men vs. Street Fighter." It may look like a simple and insignificant combo, but if done right, the moves can be both impressive and annoying.

The issue surfaced when a Japanese player Muto posted on his Twitter the footage of Spider-Man versus Iron Man. Obviously, the fight footage was in practice mode since the opponent, Iron Man was just standing at the start of the fight. The footage showed Spider-Man firing a projectile using the Reality Stone then followed up by a web ball. Since the projectile is slow moving and can be easily dodged or blocked, if the web ball connects, the opponent will be trapped inside a web cocoon, which will last until the projectile hits. This combo can be repeated throughout the match if the timing is placed well.

The Infinite prevention system of the game is not triggered by Spider-Man's low-key meta move, because the interval of the hits of the web ball will not count as successive hits.

In real world settings, this move has a 50 percent chance of success rate since both the projectile and the web ball would find a constantly moving target very hard to hit. Yet, this seemingly unending barrage of cosmic energy and web can be easily set up by any of the other characters from the game.

Capcom tweeted, "We are aware of the Spider-Man infinite loop in #MVCI. The team is looking into it and will share more information as soon as it is available."
