Multiplayer online battle royale game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" recently rolled out a new patch for the Xbox One version of the game. Apart from that, the game surpassed a new milestone for its concurrent players.

According to reports, the new update modifies Squads and fixes optimization issues to make it more accessible to players. Xbox players will be able to play Squad mode as a one, two, or three-man squads without the need to match make with other gamers.

Squad mode is different from PUBG's standard free-for-all mode. It places teams of players against one another instead of placing everyone against each other to the last man standing.

Although others think that this patch is mundane, this is a proof that the developer of the game always makes sure that players will enjoy both versions of the game. Apart from that, the latest patch also ensures fans that the game will have continued performance optimizations.

One of the biggest complaints of players of "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" is its frequent crashing. With that, the new update promises a variety of crash fixes. The patch also reduces recoil across all weapons but only for the Xbox One version.

In another news, developer PUBG Corporation is celebrating for smashing a new record as the year 2017 draws to a close. It has crossed over its 3 million concurrent player mark with 3.1 million worldwide players on Steam. This new accomplishment comes a week after the game's Xbox One launch that helped them reach over 30 million lifetime players.

With this number, "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" beat "Dota 2," which previously held the number 1 spot of 1.29 million concurrent players. This time, "Dota 2" settled at number 2 with 704,938 players.

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" is directed by Brendan Greene inspired by the 2000 film "Battle Royale." In the game, 100 players will parachute to an island and will look for weapons in order to kill other people on the island. The player should avoid getting killed since the last player will win. The game was first released in March and had a full release on Dec. 20.
