'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' to develop new ways to catch cheaters
The widely popular online shooter game, "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds," is no stranger to cheating players and opportunists. In order to rectify the issue, the developers at Bluehole Studio have recently promised that they will be more vigilant in trying to keep players safe from cheaters by creating more ways to counteract cheating.
In a report by PC Gamer, "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" ended up banning an estimated 42,000 players per day. This is a big number in the world of online gaming, but players are somehow not discouraged by the penalties of cheating. On Nov. 2, the developers offered their sincerest apologies to the gaming community due to the cheating cases that has plagued the game, which is subsequently ruining the overall player experience.
Euro Gamer has reported that Bluehole Studios has promised to be more "proactive" in catching cheaters in the game. The development team then stated that they will be making use of their means to create a "safe and fair in-game environment" for players, especially those who create hacking software that enable others to cheat. Those who are caught will receive a lifetime ban from the game.
This was not the first apology that the team has issued this month. Dot Esports has reported that Bluehole Studios previously apologized for their faulty servers as well, and ensured players that they are doing everything they can to improve their services. It appears that the developers have their hands full at the moment.
Other than that, the game's creator, Brendan Greene, has consistently been updating code of conduct for "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds." According to PC Games N, another way in which the game's developers will be implementing their anti-cheating system is through examining "unusual" player behaviors in-game. If a player is suspected of behaving suspiciously, they will receive a temporary ban until the case has been solved.
Given that the game will be introducing new gameplay mechanics soon, with vaulting and more, the risk of cheating could also increase as well as in-game exploits.
