The popular battle royale style online video game, "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" has already been breaking records in the past month, and has shown no signs of slowing down. Already holding the record for most concurrent users in video game history, the numbers are still growing and is closing in on doubling the numbers of its previous record from just a few weeks ago.

Comic Book has noted that it was unthinkable that "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" numbers would reach the heights it is achieving now. After just crossing the one million concurrent user line, the game had just broken the 1.9 million number. The speed with which the game has generated interest and accumulated players has not been experienced before, and is a testament to its current popularity. The question is, will the numbers keep growing?

According to Gamespot, the game's creator, Brendan Greene, has estimated that the total number of players that may be playing the game by November will reach about 100 million players. It is noteworthy to mention that the game has not been fully released yet, which means that the game's developers, Bluehole Studios, is only at the receiving end of very valuable information about their wildly popular game.

The developers have already scheduled launching the game for the Xbox One, which will happen later on within 2017. This move could potentially bring in more users to add to the rapidly increasing number of concurrent users. Additionally, the price of the game will remain at $30.

Comparatively speaking, the now top two and three games on the list of most concurrent users have figures that pale in comparison to "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds." However, it is notable to point out that while the record is very high on Steam, it is still more than one million away from the current record of the video game "League of Legends," which peaked at three million concurrent users.
