PlayStation 4 price discounts in time for the Holidays

Avid gamers residing in Australia are in luck. With price drops expected on a lot of consumer electronic items, the word out right now is that the Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) will be getting a big price off, which should be right on cue with the Holidays just around the corner.

From an original price of AU$549.95, the Sony PS4 500 GB model will be offered with AU$80.00 off the tag price. So doing the math, that pulls the price down to a sane $479.95, which is not bad.

Now, for those not residing in Australia, well, don't fret. Europe has started offering price cuts for PS4 as well. Sony has cut the price of the 500 GB model of PS4 in the UK from £350 to £300. Price cuts were already done in North America earlier on, as well as in Asia back in September.

Ramping up Sony's gaming console sales is seen as the obvious intent for the price off. Sony has been trying to keep itself abreast with rival Microsoft which is incidentally set to offer its own deals for the Xbox One.

As reported in a separate post, Dell announced just recently that it would be offering an Xbox One bundle for just $299. This is actually part of Dell's Black Friday deal which will start on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.

Dell's Xbox One bundle includes an extra controller and a copy of "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" and "Fallout 4." Take note, though, that this is a limited offer.

The Sony offer is, of course, not as crazy but the thing is with Christmas coming up, a game console at a discounted price like that should be really something to consider.

With big game titles like "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" and "Star Wars: Battlefront," the timing of getting hold of the PS4 at this price could be worth it, particularly for the hardcore gamers.
