PS4 Pre Order for Gamestop, Best Buy, Amazon, and Walmart - Playstation 4 Demand High, Amazon Launch edition sold out
Sony's latest console, the Playstation 4 is available for pre-order on Gamestop, Amazon, Best Buy and Wal-Mart. The demand for the PS4, which is available online from $399, has been very high and online retailer Amazon has already sold out its limited supply of PS4 .
The online giant has now split the order of the PS4s, with customers being given one of two listings. For those lucky enough to pre-order the console before the first batch sold out, they have been assigned the "Launch Edition", which means that they will receive the console on the first day of its release.
A message from Amazon to customers who bought the Launch Edition reads:
"Thank you for pre-ordering the Playstation 4. Yesterday we made a change to the name of the product by adding "Launch" and "Standard" editions, which may have caused confusion for some of our customers. We are writing to confirm that you ordered the "Launch Edition," which is Release-Day Delivery eligible. All other aspects of the two editions are identical."
GameStop is expected to receive a huge backlog of pre-orders for the PS4 as well. The company's president Tony Bartel said:
"The PS4 will top a lot of wish lists and we expect consumer demand to be high. We obviously hope supply will flow well throughout the holidays, but, as with other new consoles, there will likely be some shortages. GameStop will use its PS4 First to Know list to give all our customers an opportunity to pre-order and purchase a PS4 with minimal effort."
Gamestop is offering the Playstation with Bundle options, ranging from $459.98 to $579.96.
Best Buy and Walmart are offering pre-orders with free shipping.
Best Buy is also offering pre-orders for the latest DualShock 4 Controller for $59.99 and PS4 Eye Camera for $59.99.
