PlayStation plus free games July 2016: 'Saints Row: Gat out of Hell,' 'Furi,' others on the list for July

PS Plus members are once again treated to some free games this July. There are two free titles for those who use PlayStation 4 consoles, two for PlayStation 3 owners, and two for those who play games using PlayStation Vita. There is also a bonus for this month.

The first game for PS4 is "Saints Row: Gat out of Hell," which is an open-world sandbox game set in New Hades. There are five islands in this installment in the "Saints Row" series, namely Barrens, the Den, Downtown, Forge, and Shantytown. Gamers can progress by completing activities that would fill the meter called "Satan's Wrath," as mentioned by the PlayStation Blog.

The second PS4 game is "Furi," in which gamers need to go against guardians in an intense and fast-paced combat. It has a mix of swordplay and gun fights, and players need to face bosses with different abilities, such as putting up protective shields, turning invisible and the like.

PS3 users are treated to "Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood," which is a first-person shooter that allows gamers to choose which character -- either Ray or Thomas McCall -- they want to play in different levels. The brothers have different strong points, with Ray being the stronger one but Thomas being the faster of the two, and they also have different sets of weapons.

For PS3 players who are more into real-time strategy games, they can have "Fat Princess" wherein two teams take turns trying to make their opponent's task harder to do. Each team can have a maximum of 16 members.

PS Vita owners, meanwhile, can get "Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines" for free this month. Characters can take on jobs from different classes, namely as an archer, a breaker, a cannoneer, a dancer, a martial artist, a naginataman, a spearman or a swordsman, and they need to face off against enemies. Each character, however, can live for only two years, so gamers will be using their characters' descendants as they progress in the game.

"Prince of Persia: Revelation," a third-person action adventure puzzle game, is the second title that PS Vita owners can get for free this July. Gamers need to go on a quest in an attempt for their character, the Prince, to defy his death.

Moreover, PlayStation Plus members can get a taste of "Paragon" ahead of everyone else. This early access to Epic Games' upcoming MOBA (multi-player online battle arena) comes a month ahead of the open beta scheduled for Aug. 16. They will also be treated to a Starter Pack that will have the heroes Gadget, Murdock and Rampage, taking on three Master Challenges.
