The first game to be included in the PlayStation Plus free games lineup for October appears to have been revealed.

The game in question looks to be none other than "Super Meat Boy."

Back in June, it was announced that "Super Meat Boy" would finally be coming to PlayStation consoles after it was initially kept away from the PlayStation 3 (PS3). For its official release, "Super Meat Boy" would be available for both the PS4 and the PS Vita.

Back then, it was also announced that "Super Meat Boy" would be available for free via PlayStation Plus upon being launched, according to the official PlayStation Europe Blog.

It looks as though that launch date is now inching closer and closer.

Officially, "Super Meat Boy" is scheduled to be released for both the PS4 and the PS Vita beginning Oct. 6, and perhaps not by accident, the official October lineup of PlayStation Plus free games will be going live the very next day. "Super Meat Boy" is indeed expected to be part of that lineup, according to Gamepur.

As of now, there has been no actual confirmation from Sony that "Super Meat Boy" will indeed be part of the PlayStation Plus lineup, so news cannot be official until then.

Another title which could be part of the October lineup of PlayStation Plus free games is "Three Fourths Home: Extended Edition." The game has already received an Oct. 6 launch date, according to PlayStation Lifestyle, similar to the one for "Super Meat Boy," which could be an indicator that it will indeed be part of the lineup.

Sony has yet to announce the complete October PlayStation Plus lineup, but news is expected to come out soon.

Additionally, console owners who may be looking for the Vote to Play feature for next month's lineup should be tempering expectations as it has been billed as a timely event and not part of the regular proceedings.
