Sony is starting the year right with the impressive lineup of free video games in the January 2018 PlayStation Plus catalog. PlayStation Plus subscribers will experience an action-packed New Year with two of the biggest stealth-action titles over the last few years. Specifically, the free games list will be led by "Dues Ex: Mankind Divided" and "Batman: The Telltale Series."

A total of seven free video games can be downloaded by the PlayStation Plus subscribers starting on Jan. 2, which are distributed among the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita consoles. Leading the lineup for the month of January is the popular action sequel "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" from Eidos Montreal.

Serving as a follow-up title to "Deus Ex: Human Revolution," the PS4 game revisits the life of agent Adam Jensen in his new mission to maintain peace between humans and semi-robotic individuals. Players can enjoy the stealth and action elements of "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" as either a peacemaker or a villainous entity, according to Digital Trends.

Another free PS4 game title available in the PlayStation Plus catalog this January is "Batman: The Telltale Series," which follows the story of the popular DC comic book hero. Games from Telltale Studios are no stranger in the PS Plus catalog, and in this "Batman" version, the iconic characters such as Catwoman and Harvey Dent will be featured. To note, the latest sequel to this game, "Batman: The Enemy Within," was recently released.

Meanwhile, PlayStation 3 owners will get to enjoy the action role-playing game (ARPG) from 2014, "Sacred 3." As for the PlayStation Vita, the anime-based video game "Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness" and survival horror game "Uncanny Valley" will be available for the entire month of January. These PS Vita titles are also playable on the PS4 console.

Express UK noted that the January 2018 free games lineup is among the best coming from PlayStation Plus. The Metascore ratings obtained by the list's giant games are remarkably high, especially "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" with an 84 percent score on Metacritic. "Batman: A Telltale Series" also received a good 68% rating.
