The PlayStation Plus free games for October are yet to be announced by Sony, but there are rumors going around, claiming that the company is going big for its lineup next month.

It is being reported that triple-A titles will grace the list. One of which is "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag," the fourth installment in the action-adventure video game series by Ubisoft Massive.

It will be a long while before the new installment and successor to "Assassin's Creed 4" will be released, as revealed by the Ubisoft chief executive Yves Guillemot to GameSpot, which makes next month a perfect time for the current installment to be made available to more gamers.

"What we saw in the development of the next [Assassin's Creed] was that we had an opportunity to take it to another level. So we said we'll take all the time it takes to make the experience fantastic," Guillemot stated.

This means that gamers who have been wanting to experience or get into the series can finally do so by getting "Assassin's Creed 4." What's better is that they could get it for free via the PS Plus subscription.

In addition, it makes sense for "Assassin's Creed 4" to be part of the PS Plus free games lineup for the month of October since it has been available long enough to earn a massive following.

The game was released in October 2013, which makes it more proper to be part of the PS Plus promo next month. What's more is that the title has also already been made available for free on other platforms, so Sony would not be hurt if it was released it for free.

Another title poised to be included in the PS Plus free games list for October is "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition." One reason why it could be a freebie is for it to serve as a promotion for "Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Edition," which comes out next month.

Sony is expected to make the announcement of the official list free games for PS Plus subscribers tomorrow, Sept. 28.
