New leaks have indicated the price point of the upcoming virtual reality headset by PlayStation, and it appears that their version of the device will be cheaper than the Oculus Rift.

In a thread posting in NeoGaf, three swiss suppliers have posted prices for the upcoming PlayStation VR and pegs it at around 450 to 500 Euro, or about $492 to $547. The Oculus Rift is currently being sold at $599.

The three swiss suppliers are Brack, which pegs the price at about 450 Euro, Techmania, which gives the PlayStation 4 at 505 Euro, and Internet.ch, which records a price of 495 Euro. Though the price is significantly lower than that of the Oculus Rift, a lot of PlayStation fans have expressed that the PlayStation VR would be sold at a lower price than what was leaked.

Ron Duwell of Techno Buffalo shares that he was expecting a price of $399, but now believes that the PlayStation virtual reality headset might sell for $499.

The Oculus Rift is currently available for pre-ordering and has a price tag of $599. The virtual reality package by Oculus includes a VR headset, sensors, remotes for handheld controls, cables, an Xbox One controller and a copy of two game titles- "EVE: Valkyrie" and "Lucky's Tale."

However, virtual reality enthusiasts who are looking to get their hands on the Oculus Rift will have to wait until July 2016 if they order one now. The pre-ordering option was opened to the public on Jan. 6, 2016 and has experienced a rush of pre-orders.

The PlayStation VR, or previously known as Project Morpheus, is rumoured to be set for a June 30 launch, but Sony has yet to give a final announcement so this date should be taken with a grain of salt. Another rumour has also indicated that the PlayStation VR will not be compatible with the PlayStation 4 and will come with its own gaming console.
