"Pokemon Sun and Moon" is giving away a Charizard for free. Pokemon

The release of the newest Pokemon video games "Ultra Sun" and "Ultra Moon" is already on the horizon, as it is only a month away. Still, Nintendo has not stopped giving away freebies to players of the previous installment, "Pokemon Sun" and "Moon." The company is giving away one of the most iconic Pokemon in the game, the first generation starter Charizard.

Players can claim the free download code for Charizard at the electronics department of any participating Target stores across the U.S. The promotion will be active until Oct. 14.

The free Charizard is a powerful one as it will arrive at level 50. In addition, it will feature a varied move set that allows it to deliver knockout attacks in different ways.

The Pokemon will have Dragon Dance, a move that raises its own attack stat sharply. It will also have three powerful damaging attacks in the Fire-type Flare Blitz, the Flying-type Fly, and the Ground-type Earthquake. With these hard hitting moves, this Charizard will surely be a great addition to any player's roster.

The fiery lizard will also come holding a Red Card item, which will force any attacker to randomly switch out with a different Pokémon.

After picking up the free download code, Players will be able to redeem the Pokemon by going to the game's menu and selecting the Mystery Gift option. Then he or she should select the "Get with Code/Password" option and enter the code obtained from Target.

Once entered, players will be able to claim the Pokemon from the delivery person waiting inside any Pokemon Center in the game.

This Charizard freebie follows another Target-exclusive promo, the Pokemon Trading Card Game: Charizard-GX Premium Collection. The package sells for $40 and contains the Charizard-GX card, a Charizard collector's pin, and other freebies.

Charizard is one of the most popular Pokemon in the franchise. Even after the arrival of many generations of new Pokemon, the chance to get a Charizard in the games is something that "Pokemon Sun" and "Moon" players should surely not miss.
