Pokémon is going back to its roots, or at least to its gaming roots.

According to a recent announcement from Nintendo, they will be re-issuing the original Pokémon games by Feb. 27 of next year.

That means that fans who want to experience "Pokémon Blue," "Pokémon Red," and "Pokémon Yellow" all over again can do so when those three titles are released for the Nintendo 3DS.

All three of the original Pokémon games will be available via Nintedo's virtual service, according to NDTV.

Nintendo has also given fans an idea of what they can expect from the Nintendo 3DS ports of the popular games.

According to Nintendo, the games will mostly stay true to what they were when they were originally released, meaning they will feature the same visual style and even the same soundtrack that they did when they were first launched.

As for the changes that will be coming to three Pokémon games, Nintendo is apparently keeping their tweaks to a minimum.

Instead of featuring radical changes, the tweaks that have been officially confirmed for the games thus far constitute the removal of the need for link cable. In the place of the link cable that would allow players to trade and battle with their friends, people can now use wireless capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS to do the same things.

Aside for news concerning other games from the franchise, it's also been rumored that "Pokémon Z" may also be released on Feb. 27.

As for other Pokémon properties such as "Pokémon Go," fans can reportedly expect more news about that game in December, the Latin Post reported.

The Japanese magazine CoroCoro has indicated in their most recent issue that they will be revealing more news about "Pokémon" in their December edition, although exactly what the news will be about is still unknown.

In the past, the magazine published news regarding Pokémon movies, although fans believe that this time around, the new bit of information will be about games from the franchise.
