A brand new distribution event puts three new Pokémon up for the taking. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are giving away Johto starters Meganium, Feraligatr, and Typhlosion to devoted Pokébank users who will use the service between Feb. 27 and Nov. 30. The giveaway set of Pokémon is the final Evolutions of the starter Pokémon on "Pokémon HeartGold" and "Pokémon SoulSilver" and they all come with hidden abilities. 

Grass type Pokémon Meganium is equipped with its Leaf Guard ability, which shields it from status conditions such as extreme sunlight. The Herb Pokémon's moveset consists of the Solar Beam, Sunny Day, Synthesis and Body Slam. 

Meanwhile, water-type Pokémon Feraligatr brings along its Sheer Force ability. This will reduce the additional effects from its attacks but it will increase the damage by 30 percent. The Big Jaw Pokémon's moves include Screech, Punch, Crunch and Waterfall. Instead of causing additional effects, these moves will dramatically amplify the damage to its opponent. 

Typhlosion's ace is the element of fire. So with Flash Fire as its hidden ability, the Volcano Pokémon will boost up its Fire-Type moves to 50 percent as it repels damage from the same move types. Speaking of which, Typhlosion can make use of Overheat, Flame Wheel, Flame Charge and Swift. 

The aforementioned Pokémon can be redeemed either via "Pokémon X and Y," "Pokémon Omega Ruby" or "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" with a Pokémon link, but only one Pokébank will be read. Players have plenty of time to get them as Nintendo is starting and ending the promo on Feb. 27 and Nov. 30, respectively. However, Pokémon trainers can only get these Johto starters once. 

Players use the Pokémon bank to transfer their Pokémon from one game to another via a dropbox system. It is a service paid per annum for $4.99. This system, unfortunately, leaves valuable items such as Mega stones lodged in the original games and the only way to relocate them is via trading.
