The upcoming update of "Pokemon GO" is expected to be launched in March 2017. Among the many features that will be included in the update is the gamers' access to the Legendary Birds and the evolution of several Gen 1 Pokemon in Gen 2.

Niantic Labs has been continuously updating and enhancing the features of "Pokemon GO," and a lot of the new features will be included in the release of the game's Gen 2. Other than player-versus-player battles and Pokemon breeding, one of the most anticipated update is the players' accessibility in capturing the Legendary Birds.

The Legendary Birds – Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres – is the first Legendary trio in Pokemon and have not been seen in the wild by any Poke trainer so far in "Pokemon GO." According to GamenGuide, Niantic Labs is playing with the idea of creating an event where gamers will be able to encounter the Legendary Birds. There has been no confirmation from Niantic Labs yet, but this feature is already highly anticipated in the Gen 2 update.

Meanwhile, Pokemon GO Informer reports that many of the Gen 1 Pokemonsters will be able to evolve in the Gen 2 update. Some of the Pokemon that will evolve in Gen 2 are Zubat (Crobat), Gloom (Bellossom), Poliwhirl (Politoed), Horsea (Kingdra) and Slowpoke (Slowking).

Earned candies from catching a common Pokemon – such as Zubat – multiple times and exchanging them with the professor can still be done once the Gen 2 update has arrived.

In the current "Pokemon GO," Niantic has updated its version for both the Android and iOS according to Pokemon GO Live. Aside from the buddy system recently added as a new feature, "Pokemon GO" now has a Catch Bonus. The bonus is described as "Trainers can earn a catch bonus for a Pokémon type as they catch more of a specific type."

The updated Gen 1 has also implemented the new gym training rules where six Pokemons are allowed to train in team friendly Poke gyms.

"Pokemon GO" Gen 2 is expected to be released in March 2017.
